Ivanhoe Energy's Latin American activities are carried out under Ivanhoe Energy Latin America Inc., the parent company of Ivanhoe Energy's Latin America corporate group.
The first project to be undertaken by Ivanhoe Energy Latin America Inc. is the development of the Pungarayacu heavy oil field, a massive heavy oil field approximately 125 miles southeast of Quito, Ecuador.
Ivanhoe Energy Ecuador, Inc. will lead the development of the project. Ivanhoe Energy Ecuador, a Canadian company, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ivanhoe Energy Latin America Inc.
